san francisco

i didn't update last week because jun and i decided to take a quick little family trip to san francisco. it was our first family road trip and we were kind of dreading the car ride because we didn't know how caleb was going to handle 7 hours in the snug car seat. but let me tell you, we are so blessed! caleb is such a good boy. he slept the whole way there!!! he woke up at the perfect time...when we stopped for lunch, his eyes opened. then, after lunch, he went back to sleep until we got to san fran. oh and guess what? on the way back, he did the same thing! oh i love him. we stayed for 7 days. the weather wasn't too great up north, but we still got to relax and see many people.

the last time i updated, caleb was sleeping about an average of 7 hours. a little more than a week and a half ago, he started sleeping 10 hours...yes, non-stop! last night was not so good, he woke up 3 times. but...i am so not complaining. i expect his sleeping schedule to go through ups and downs.

this is officially the last week before i go back to work. i start work on tuesday. i am pretty sad. i'm going to miss jun and caleb. these past 3 months, it's just been great family time. i don't want to think about work right now.

just to keep you up to date...caleb is 13 weeks now...passing the 3 month mark. he is changing developmentally and physically everyday. it's so fun to see. i love going to pick him up in the morning and seeing him greet us with the biggest toothless smile ever.

you'll get to see the people we saw in the pictures i'm going to post. but one very unfortunate thing happened while we were up north. jun and i were bummed for a couple of days. so...we got to see the lovely torgersons. it was great to catch up and see the family. we took a bunch of pictures of edmund and caleb sitting and having fun together. we even took a family shot. after we left...jun noticed that our camera memory was low, so he told me to delete some old pictures from the camera. as i was doing that...somehow...i accidentally pressed the "delete all" button!!! now, we'll have to wait til next time. but they were really great pictures! it was totally my fault, i was deleting a little too fast. we also had pictures of caleb's infant dedication! i guess we'll just have to ask around to see if people at church have some that we can have.

so yeah...that's the other news...caleb got dedicated at church. it meant a lot to make a promise to raise caleb well and to help him grow up in a christian family and lead him to find his own faith. it's such a huge responsibility, but it felt good to make that commitment because we truly just want the best for him.

jun's ministry has not been decided yet. we are waiting for god's leading. please pray for us. there is so much joy in this stage of our lives, but it is also a time with so many changes and decisions.

caleb loved being home. when we got home at night, he was in such a good mood and just chilled on the couch for awhile...auntie soojin came to spend the evening with us!caleb got this lounge chair as a gift. we put in a dvd like baby einstein and he just sat in his lounge chair and watched the dvd. it was so cute...too bad his attention span is only like 3 minutes!

oohs and aahs...

it's the 11 week mark for caleb. wow, can't believe he's almost 3 months. the greatest thing about this week is...he is starting to "talk." no, of course not real talk...but he makes tons of sounds...oohs and aahs. when you "ooh" or "aah" back, he smiles and talks back. it's so much fun! they say this is the beginning of their language development. pretty cool, huh?

he's wearing 3-month clothes now. some are still a little big, but he seems to be right on schedule. our dr's appointment is tomorrow. i hope he's growing well...sure seems like it. he's our little chunky monkey :) i love squeezing his thighs!

i go back to work in 2 1/2 weeks. so fast! we are trying to train caleb to take the bottle, but he hates it. he screams when we try to feed him from the bottle, it's so sad. we are working on it though. he needs to take it before i go back to work, that's for sure.

i love when caleb smiles when he sees us now. he is a happy one and warms my heart all the time. it's great to know he recognizes our faces. well, he should because we've been in his face 24/7 for almost 3 months! haha...

oh...and...we are so happy to say that caleb has been sleeping for 5-7 hours at night! it's great! we are so lucky. he also is starting to fall asleep on his own when we put him down at around 8:30-9:00. we know this might not last long because they go through phases, but we are just thankful at this point. he's been a good boy. we really really love him so much.
